Vor kurzem gab es ein Mixtape hier beim Toast, compiliert von Ben, dem Sänger und Gitarristen von Elfred And The Uber Peas. Jetzt habe ich ihm einige Roggen Roll-Frühstücksfragen gestellt:
Who are you and where are you just now?
Hello. My name is Benjamin Brown. I am a human being. And I write/sing/play songs for Elfred & The Uber Peas. At the moment it is 02:14 am and I am at home, in England.
Are you an early bird or a morning grouch?
I’m a bit of both. If I have to wake up early, I dont like it. BUT I’m normally still awake in the morning. Its now 02:16 am and I feel gooood!!
Do you dream of music sometimes?
Yep. The other night I dreamt that I could hear a church gospel choir and I really wanted to find them. But I couldn’t.
Have you ever written a song in the morning? What inspires you to write a song?
Most of my songs are written in the early hours in the morning. Normally if I can’t sleep. Its because I’m thinking. And if I’m thinking about something its often worth writing a few words about it. And then putting it in my pocket, perhaps to read again. ORRR a whole song come out in one go.
I can be inspired by anything and everything.
Things I’ve felt, feel, want to feel.
Things I’ve experienced, experience, want to experience…
Life. And everything in it!
Do you like music in the morning? What kind of music do you prefer?
I like music in the morning. I normally listen to Bob Dylan. Or Nat King Cole.
Do you have a favourite song to wake up to?
‘Mama You’ve Been On My Mind’ – Bob Dylan
What music or band if any did you hear this morning?
I heard my brother singing. And the birds outside my window.
And then I put on ‘stranger son of wb’.
What is your favourite breakfast, rolls or muesli, coffee or tea or…?
I like tea. And coco pops
