Mimetic Contagion
A political prisoner feeds his own self-importance by viewing all those who oppose, disagree, or shun his cause as devils. He views his imprisonment and mistreatment as a sort of martyrdom and himself as a glorious folk hero who is strong enough to be punished for his convictions. Dying for the cause becomes more important than pushing it forward. And yet doubts linger…

Conspiracy of Conscience
A prison guard who struggles with his misgivings about the things he’s asked to do by his government. He vacillates between buying into what he’s been taught and what his own moral compass tells him. In the end, he opts to ignore his doubts because, after all, he needs a job in order to feed his family.

Ganz heißer Toast-Tipp: Gringo Records ist ein DIY-Label (Do It Yourself) aus Nottingham. Fast 15 Jahre gibt es das Label und komischerweise hab ich noch nie von ihnen gehört, was schade ist. Vor einigen Wochen haben sie einen Sampler rausgebracht, den sie über Bandcamp gegen eine Mail-Adresse kostenlos anbieten und der ist richtig, richtig toll. Die Bands sind noch nicht ganz so bekannt, Part Chimp ist wohl die Band, die man am ehesten kennen könnte. Hookworms dagegen hört man jetzt öfters im Radio und vor einigen Wochen wurden sie sogar im Guardian als “New Band Of The Day” gefeatured. Also eine super Sache dieser Sampler!

Eine kleine Sensation für alle Cats In Paris-Fans (so wie mich): Die Band hat bisher unveröffentlichte Songs bei Soundcloud hochgeladen. Eigentlich gibt es die Band nicht mehr, aber da sie vor der Trennung schon mit der Arbeit an dem neuen Album angefangen haben, vermute ich einfach mal, dass es sich um dieses Material handelt. Ich weiß es nicht, ob dieses Lebenszeichen eventuell bedeuten könnte, dass die Band wieder zusammen kommt, aber es ist auf jeden Fall aufregend, neue Songs hören zu können!
